Project Overview

The Monotype Brief, one of the most popular brief of D&AD New Blood Awards 2025, asks us to reimagine the role of typography in the tension between freedom and law & order, using the latest font technology, font displays/media/carriers, and novel typographic form.

Barcelona’s housing crisis, fueled by mass tourism, has left many locals unable to afford a home. This led to extreme protests on the streets, urging for the control on the number of visiting tourists. This campaign uses typography as an active force to leverage mass tourism for the quality of life for the residents. By blending design, commerce, and activism, "Tourists Go Home" transforms typography into a tool for change, ensuring that those who call Barcelona home can stay.
